About Me

Roberta VanHouten

Senior Administrator/Teacher

After working for Florida Hospital for many years as an ICU/CCU nurse I was given an opportunity to teach nursing school at SCC.  I had always liked nursing, but found that I loved education so when I had my first child it was an easy transition to teach math and science at her school.  When my son arrived and was experiencing challenges with learning he and I both came to Hope.  He was put on a track to overcome some obstacles to his education and I embarked on a brand new career that has allowed me to flourish. My son graduated last year with a regular diploma and I am thriving as part of a faculty fully committed to seeing children reach their potential.
