Open Enrollment Is Now Closed

Hello! My name is Katherine Barnard, most people call me Katie. I am fine with either. I’m excited to be in my 8th year teaching at Hope Charter/Legacy High School. Along with my teaching responsibilities, I proudly serve as the Varsity Softball Head Coach. This year marks my 11th season with the softball program, and I’m thrilled to continue fostering a love for the sport in our student-athletes.

I was born and raised in Central Florida and am a proud graduate of West Orange High School. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Sports & Fitness from the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!). Before joining the Hope/Legacy team, I spent a decade working in the real estate and mortgage industries, which provided me with valuable skills in communication, problem-solving, and organization.

I’m happily married to my wonderful husband, Gary, and together we have three amazing boys. Wyatt and Kevin are juniors this year at Legacy, while Matthew graduated last year and is starting an exciting career in electrical work.

As a family, we love staying active, spending time outdoors, enjoying Sunday dinners with our extended family, and making the most of Florida’s beautiful waterways.

I’m looking forward to another incredible year with my students and the Legacy community!
