OUTDOOR SCIENCE CLASSROOM
Rendering of potential outdoor science classroom
We envision adding an outdoor science "classroom" to broaden our students' overall learning experience. To be included at the outdoor classroom are wooden benches for students to sit on as well as a wooden podium for our teachers. Nature is a wonderful teacher, and outdoor learning is statistically shown to improve a child's overall cognitive abilities. Eventually, we would also like to add an Aquaponics system to further deepen each child's hands-on knowledge and experience of nature.
Rendering of potential boardwalk
Adding a beautiful boardwalk between our Hope and Legacy campus and our Pathways campus just to the north, would make a wonderful addition to the school property. A boardwalk would allow easy access between the two campuses, nature walks for students, staff, and guests, as well as easy access to our outdoor science classroom. This project would include three phases: a boardwalk bridge behind the gym parking lot extending to the back of the Pathways property; a boardwalk to our outdoor science classroom; and a boardwalk that extends behind the lake and ends in a beautiful octagonal open area with benches which will be just across from the Pathways facility.
In honor of your donation, you have the option to have your name carved onto the plank(s) that your support provides for this boardwalk.
ADDITIONAL CLASSROOM BUILDING
Undeveloped land for additional building
At our current capacity, we are at maximum utilization of our buildings for classroom use and have steadily been running out of space for classroom learning. We will be erecting an additional building with 6-8 classrooms on the undeveloped property next to our current gym. This building will consist of some general classrooms as well as an art room and a weight room.
FOOTBALL/SOCCER & BASEBALL FIELDS
Area where sports fields are to be added
Our sports programs have come a long way in a very short time and it's time for the next step in our athletic expansion. Adding a football/soccer field and a baseball diamond on the Pathways property just to the north of our school location will provide a wonderful opportunity for our youth and their families to participate in athletics on school property instead of going to continually traveling to off-site locations for sporting events. Currently, this site is occupied by our horse corral and some undeveloped land.
ADDITIONAL EXIT TO ALLEVIATE TRAFFIC
Corner of E. Fuller's Cross and E. Crown Point for additional exit
The corner of E. Fuller's Cross and E. Crown Point just next to the Hope campus is available for purchase and would be a nice addition to the Hope/Legacy property. In purchasing this smaller plot of land, we plan to add an additional exit that would alleviate the strain created by "The Loop" during student drop-off and pick-up. An exit out onto E. Fuller's Cross would allow our parents to get on and off school property more quickly and easily.
ANIMALS FOR DOMESTIC PETTING ZOO
Our rescued horses, "Hope" and "Legacy"
We currently possess two rescued horses, "Hope" and "Legacy", that have become a staple of our schools. Adding additional tamed animals such as a goat, sheep, calf, and chickens will allow us to have a full domestic petting zoo for our kids to have an outlet to experience the calming effect of animals. It is well known that animals have a deeply therapeutic effect on children, especially challenged ones. For this reason, as well as for the educational benefit, we would love to offer a petting zoo on our property.
