Speech Criteria - WH -Q3

SPEECH DUE: Feb. 15th! Will count as a TEST GRADE!

Speech Topics Due: Feb. 1st

Between 2 to 4min:

Must be at least 2min but NO MORE than 4min.

*If you are doing a song for your speech, it must be at least 3min but NO MORE than 4min.

Know Your Subject, Make Eye Contact:

Must be familiar enough with material that you are only infrequently glancing at your cue cards (cue cards can only have a few main ideas or important bullet points, they CANNOT be your whole speech).

Make sure you are making (or appearing to make) eye contact with your audience.

Have a Prop:

Must have a prop that you can tell us information about and incorporate within your speech. Digital Props must be cleared with Mrs. Kish ahead of time (at least 3 days in advance), they must be sent to Mrs. Kish's email address at least two days before presentations begin).

Please Note: If digital props are not sent two days in advance, they will not be able to be used and no credit will be given for them.

Give Us Something New!:

Must focus on new information, not just retell us what we have discussed/read/saw/watched about in class.

MLA Format Paper

You must submit a copy of your speech in MLA format, with a works cited page.

Speech = Test Grade

Must take presentation seriously (REMEMBER: THIS COUNTS AS A TEST GRADE!)
