Intensive Reading

Welcome to Intensive Reading! I am looking forward to an awesome year and seeing the growth and achievement of all students! Making a commitment to diligently apply oneself will be a crucial component to succeeding in this course.

Intensive Reading is designed to engage and challenge students throughout the year! Students will read, analyze, and interpret genre-based literature including close reads, short stories, poetry, writing prompts, Achieve 3000, Khan Academy and practice tests for the ACT, SAT, and FSA . Students will also participate in extensive writing opportunities. Grammar, Vocabulary and spelling will also be daily components creating a course that will be challenging, cohesive, and knowledgeable. Multiple reading strategies will be used and will cater to individual learning styles and enhance students' engagement and comprehension.
