About Me

A few things you may want to know about me, or that may be helpful to you:

My wife and myself were the co-founders of Hope Charter School in 2000 as an offshoot of our quest to find answers for our son, Josiah, who battles to overcome autism. (He graduated in 2013 with a regular diploma - and honors!)  All of the amazing things about Hope and Legacy are due to the vision and oversight of my spectacular wife, Crystal, and the talented people she has hired or engaged.  I simply helped her make connections and win favor with friends and acquaintances of mine in the educational, business and political arena.

When our first group of kids were nearing completion of middle school there arose a request to pull an additional charter for our own high school, which would become Legacy.  As a part of our charter, all students at Legacy are expected to take Leadership class each year they're involved.  I was tasked with developing and teaching that class.  Over the many years we've had a high school it has evolved into its present form.

I graduated from Edgewater High school here in Orlando in the paleolithic era.  I then went on to earn a B.A. in Sociology from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma and a Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in the Boston area.  In recent years I have studied for, and been awarded a permanent teaching certificate in the areas of Social Studies and Math.

My full-time job is as pastor of Cornerstone Community Church.  I am just completing my 31st year in that role.
