Welcome to Mr. Hill's Website

2022-2023 School Year!

Hello, I am Mr. Hill. This is my 39th year of teaching and my 14th year at Legacy. I am certified in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Agriscience. I also oversee the Soccer program here at Legacy and take our seniors on their Senior Trip (as long as Covid hasn't shut things down.).

All classes have been moved to Google Classroom, please refer to Google Classroom for assignments, etc. All students need to log in using the codes below or click on the class for a hyperlink.  All assignments will be given through Google Classroom. Each parent needs to email me, letting me know that they have access to their student's account (this is an assignment). Whether you check assignments or not is up to you. The student should check Google Classroom everyday for updates.

Agriscience code: ymwhqis                           Syllabus (Class Procedures) for all classes.

Physical Science code: gqy2kt6

Physical Science (8th) code: gcbbqgk

Marine Science code: mdaqtuu

Honors Chemistry code: e45xena

Senior Trip 2023 code: qrrcei2

AgBiotech code: 6jndwnu

My goal for my science classes is to adequately prepare the students to further their science education at the next level.  I have found that conceptual learning is better than knowledge acquisition; and it is more important than grade acquisition.  Too many times students and parents are more concerned with making an A than they are with learning the material.  The conceptual learning will pay huge dividends in the future.

I encourage each student to do what they have to do in order to learn conceptually.  Learning the concepts allows one to apply previously learned knowledge to any new situation.  Does this require a base of some memorized knowledge and terms?  Yes, but then one needs to take it further.

I am here to teach; if a student needs additional help all they need to do is ask. Asking during class will help the other students.
