5th Grade Teacher
Welcome aboard! I was born and raised in Marathon, Florida (Heart of the Florida Keys) until I graduated high school. After that, 12 close friends and I escaped out of that slow-motion town and headed for Orlando, Florida to further our education and live the city life. During that time, I graduated first through Valencia Community College with my A.A. Degree followed by University of Central Florida with my B.S. Degree in Elementary Education.
After college, I was first hired through Seminole County Public Schools at a Title 1 school with 90%+ free and reduced lunch. The school had some challenging students, however, it was a great place to be and a great start to my early teacher career.
After my first 3 years of teaching, I had the opportunity to move to New York City and lived in Manhattan for 2 years. I was in their school system briefly until I found another job making more money so I temporarily stopped my teaching career. After my 2 years ended in the city, I returned back home to Florida and resumed my teaching career in Seminole County.
A few years later, I was back at my original school I first started in and it felt like NYC was just a dream. This is when I started teaching 5th grade math and science for 4 years and really understood the standards that are required for 5th grade.
It was after my return from NYC is when I got married and starting a family shortly after. I am married to my lovely wife Rosetta, and we have two children, Ethan who is 7 and Isabella who is 5. Ethan and Isabella both attend Hope and are in the 2nd grade and Kindergarten respectively.
About me: I am a sports oriented person and sports is all about numbers and science. Math and Science have always been my strengths. I really do want to make a difference in peoples' lives. Therefore, I try my best to share the knowledge I have learned along my way to all my students trying to make them a better person in this world and as successful as possible.
