Legacy Dual Enrollment Information

Students entering the 11th or 12th grade who are interested in participating in the dual enrollment program MUST meet with Mr. Cooper first.  Mr. Cooper will review the student's academic history, determine GPA eligibility and let the student know which Valencia courses he/she needs to take to meet graduation requirements.  Students must complete the dual-enrollment application from Valencia and submit the Counselor's Recommendation page to Mr. Cooper.

Students who qualify with a 3.0 GPA and take the CPT test at Valencia Community College may apply to take dual enrollment classes at Valencia.  Dual enrollment classes offer a student the opportunity to earn both high school credit and college credit.

When a student enrolls in Valencia, a copy of the "Student Detail Schedule" MUST be turned in to the office.  This schedule contains the information necessary to record the student's courses in the Orange County student database.  Without this information, the student will be enrolled in regular courses at Legacy Charter High School and will not receive dual-enrollment credit.  Since dual-enrollment classes are semester courses only, a new "Student Detail Schedule" must be turned in for each semester in which the student takes courses at Valencia.  Click on the following to see a sample of what is required:  Dual Enrollment Schedule Sample

Legacy Charter High School does not receive county funding to offer book vouchers for the purchase of dual-enrollment curriculum.  Less expensive alternatives include purchasing used books from book stores located near Valencia.

ALL Legacy Charter High School students must complete the number of community service hours for each grade level as described in the handbook.  This does include dual-enrollment students regardless of the number of hours or classes they take at Valencia or Legacy.
